Retired NBA superstar Kevin Garnett is reportedly set to join TNT's "Inside the NBA" as a weekly contributor.
The one-time NBA champion and Most Valuable Player signed a multi-year agreement with Turner Sports and will join the current crew composed of Charles Barkley, Shaquille O'Neal, Kenny "The Jet" Smith, and Ernie Johnson, as per USA Today.
The report said that Garnett will be featured every week to provide "raw insight and commentary from a custom standalone set" beginning next Thursday.
"KG's incredible passion for the game brings a new unfiltered narrative to our coverage," Turner Sports Executive Vice president and Chief Content Officer Craig Barry said. "This raw innovative approach will speak directly to the fans across multiple platforms."
Garnett, who is a 15-time NBA All-Star, retired from his NBA career in September after suiting up for 21 seasons with Minnesota, Boston, and Brooklyn. He was selected fifth overall by the Wolves during the 1995 NBA Draft and played his first 12 seasons in Minnesota before moving to the Celtics in the summer of 2007.
Garnett then won his first and only NBA title during the 2007-2008 season with fellow All-Stars Paul Pierce and Ray Allen, who together they were dubbed as the Celtics' new "Big Three".
He played five more seasons in Boston before he was traded to the Nets together with Paul Pierce and Jason Terry for future first-round picks in the 2014, 2016, and 2018 drafts, as well as Kris Humphries, Gerald Wallace, Kris Joseph, MarShon Brooks, Keith Bogans, and DJ White.
However, despite having a championship caliber starting five of Garnett, Pierce, Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, and Brook Lopez, the Nets lost to the Miami Heat in the 2014 Eastern Conference semifinals, 4-1.
Garnett played one more season in Brooklyn, but in February 2015 agreed to be traded back to the Wolves in exchange for Thaddeus Young. He played for the Wolves for the rest of the 2014-2015 season and eventually suited up in the whole of 2015-2016 before retiring.
CBS Sports noted that Garnett is considering to "work with several teams as a consultant in the front office and coaching staff". Just recently, he attended a Los Angeles Clippers training session as its current head coach, Doc Rivers, was his coach during his championship season in Boston.
