The Golden State Warriors (0-1) are eager to bounce back from their humiliating season-opening performance as they clash with the New Orleans Pelicans at the Smoothie King Center on Oct. 28, Friday as the 2016-2017 NBA Season continues.

Start Time and Streaming Info

The game starts at 9:30 p.m. ET. It can be viewed live online thru the NBA League Pass.

Preview

Golden State's "super team" was whitewashed by the San Antonio Spurs, 129-100, right at their home court of Oracle Arena on Tuesday to open the new season on a low note, via SB Nation.

The Warriors seemed to be confused on defense during the whole match as they could not stop the Spurs from scoring at will, especially Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge who torched them with 35 and 26 points respectively.

Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry led the team with 27 and 26 points as expected, but Klay Thompson struggled throughout the night with only 11 points on 5-for-13 shooting, including a 1-for-6 stint from beyond the arc.

Controversial forward Draymond Green contributed 18 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, and five steals in a highly-impressive all-around performance.

However, head coach Steve Kerr's bench was virtually non-existent in the entire game as they were outscored by the Spurs' substitutes 54-16, which is definitely an indication that something is not right with the former NBA champions.

"We got punched in the mouth," said Green after the match. "I don't know if it was quite a bad thing for us."

Meanwhile, the Pelicans were defeated by the Denver Nuggets, 107-102, also at their own home court of Smoothie King Center on Wednesday, via ESPN.

New Orleans were able to unleash a huge night from Anthony Davis, though, as the three-time All-Star center poured in 50 points, 16 rebounds, five assists, seven steals, and four blocks in 41 minutes of action.

Apart from Davis, head coach Alvin Gentry had two starters scoring in double figures with Tim Frazier and E'Twaun Moore firing 15 and 10 points respectively.

Prediction

Davis demonstrated that he is a beast, but the Pelicans still lost. The absence of Gentry's real starting backcourt of Jrue Holiday and Tyreke Evans is too much for New Orleans to handle. The Warriors are angry and they want to prove something as early as their second game in the season. A blowout win for Golden State is predicted.
