The first "Gravity Rush" title was an action-adventure video game developed by SIE Japan Studio and Project Siren, and it was published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation Vita. Being directed by Keiichiro Toyama, the gameplay involved the player's ability to manipulate gravity, allowing unique movements and navigation, like flying and walking on walls. Now, the game's going to have a sequel and the PlayStation's official Facebook page has shown the official screenshots of the gameplay.
According to IGN, the screenshots for "Gravity Rush 2" show off new enemies the size of cities, along with abilities, characters and areas for the purpose of exploration for the protagonist Kat. Despite these announcements however, Gravity Rush 2 would be delayed by about a month, making the release date Jan. 20, in spite of "production proceeding smoothly".
Earlier this month, Toyama mentioned that this is the final stretch of Kat's journey, hoping that players will have "enough time to dive deep into her story."
"In addition, as a lot of work went into online features that allow for asynchronous player interaction," said the director. "We want as many people as possible playing the title at the same time."
"After four years of development making a title we are very proud of," continued Toyama. "We want to release it at the very best time."
In addition to the screenshots, Destructoid reports that that "Gravity Rush 2" will be bringing back the costume selection feature from the first game. Of course, with most of them (if not ALL) being in the DLC, there would be more interesting and unique designs to them as Kat pushes through enemies in in the multiple new districts of Hekseville.
To mention this again, "Gravity Rush 2" is set for release on Jan. 20 for the PS Vita and PS4.
