Apple Inc. is expected to debut a high-definition iPad mini and a thinner iPad at a San Francisco event today, people with knowledge of the plans have said.

The highly-awaited Oct. 27 event of Apple is almost here and the world of tech is getting fired up from all the leaks overflowing across the web. Reports from various sources are saying that Apple has focused on upgrading its MacBook Pro this year while only tweaking a few changes on its line of MacBook Air products.

As reported by The Verge, users who are looking to upgrade their laptops this year are in for a big change as the Cupertino-based company have added several upgrades on its MacBook Pro. One of the most-talked about highlights is the addition of the OLED touch bar or the "magic tool," which per the leaked photos, can be found just above the keyboard. What's cool about this bar is that it follows the application a user is currently working on, while offering the main controls needed for productivity.

The company will also introduce a fingerprint reader on the MacBook Pro 2016, a new feature which will replace the escape button above the keyboard. Not only that, there's also word that Apple has totally got rid of the previous generation's brightness and volume controls.

While these major changes have received pretty mix reactions, it's still a safe bet that Apple will not disappoint. In the said photos, the device looks way thinner and lighter with narrower bezels. However, it is a bit concerning that it comes with only four USB C-ports - which means that it has no SD card slot, HDMI port and a power connector. The headphone jack, on the other hand, is still present.

About the MacBook Air, unfortunately, there's not much to expect. According to Bloomberg, the device's only difference from its predecessor is the addition of the USB C-ports which are likely to replace the existing USB 3.0 ports. The good news is that it will probably come with faster processors.
