"Last Week Tonight with John Oliver" continues their coverage of the upcoming elections. However, unlike most shows, the host opted to focus on third party candidates and the challenges they face in dealing with the issues in their bid to become the next president.

John Oliver opened the program about the frustration of the American voters in the upcoming elections. Their lack of choices often leads them to ignore the election or vote for a relatively unknown, third party candidate. For this election, two notable third party candidates are: Gary Johnson and Jill Stein.

Oliver started with Stein of the Green Party and her focus, according to Wall Street Journal is to eliminate student debt. Eliminating student debt for Stein is some form of stimulus package that could help those burdened with a heavy debt for many years.

But the host is not impressed with the actual plan of the candidate especially when she calls quantitative easing as a "magic trick." Oliver also called her out for entertaining the idea of a conspiracy theorist about 9/11.

After Stein, Oliver shifts his focus on Johnson of the Libertarian Party. Like Stein, Johnson has some remarkable platforms. The former governor of New Mexico stands against police militarization and he is a supporter for legalizing marijuana.

But the host also pointed out some serious concerns about the candidate. According to Collider, Johnson doesn't recognize what Aleppo is and his stand in eliminating several federal government agencies once elected is crushed once pushed for more queries.

Oliver closed his segment by reminding the voters in the upcoming election that they are essentially voting for "the lesser of four evils." The third party candidates also have some serious issues to answer as well as structuring their platforms with an efficient plan to help the government.

Oliver has tackled the election in length and aside from third party nominees; he has also addressed various issues such as the national conventions, campaign songs and even political scandals. He has also dedicated a full segment of his show for the republican nominee, Donald Trump.
