Fans have been overjoyed when they heard the 80's cult classic "Friday the 13th" will be getting a video game adaptation. Earlier gameplays show multiple death sequences performed by Jason Voorhees, while the survivors find ways to escape the camp. However, developer Gun Media announced that the game will be delayed to 2017 release date as opposed to the original release this year.

According to the game's Kickstarter page, the rescheduling means that the studio would be using this time to polish the game even more, including a single-player mode and offline AI bots, in addition to the multiplayer mode.

Spring next year will be the time the third multiplayer map Packanack Lodge will be released, along with a new character named Tommy Jarvis as a playable character. The aforementioned single player mode will be set for release sometime on Summer 2017. Kickstarter backers and those who preordered the game will be getting the single-player mode for free. Henceforth, the digital copy of the game has increased from $30 to $40, while the physical copy still remains at $60.

Players who have done any of these methods on the game will also have access to the beta version of "Friday the 13th," along with four additional beta keys for free.

Studio head Wes Keltner assured everyone that that the delay was no easy matter, as reported by Gamespot. The studio believes, however, "that the positives far outweigh the negatives."

"It sucks that there's a delay, but the wait won't be too long, and it's going to offer more for fans in the long-run," Keltner added.

"Friday the 13th: The Game" has already exceeded its crowdfunding goal of $700,000 by $100,000. It also met stretch goals to add even more style of killing. On the other hand, the single-player campaign's stretch goal was $1.625 million.
