BBC has released the trailer of its "Doctor Who" spinoff title "Class". From the looks of it, something evil is definitely coming.

The series is set in the fictional Coal Hill Academy, which is also the setting of the 1963 premiere of the time-travelling adventures of "Doctor Who". In the trailer, the Doctor has a very important message for the students of Coal Hill Academy. This came after the school was attacked by a group of extraterrestrials.

The "Doctor" then instructs four misfit students that they have to band together to protect Earth from the alien creatures who want to take over the planet.  The trailer then focuses to these four students, showing glimpses of their powers, and a terrifying message from the "Doctor" about the uncertainty of their future.

"I can travel through time and I can travel through space, but I won't always be there when you need me. Sometimes, you have to take survival upon yourselves. What will you do when the shadows come? When you can't turn away from the darkness ahead. Time has looked at your faces--and time never forgets," the "Doctor" said.

According to News Thrive, the new show is aimed for younger viewers as it is being written by young adult author Patrick Ness. While the "Doctor" will play a small role in this new spinoff, he will surely appear in the pilot. The show will take place within the "Doctor Who" universe but it is intended to be a stand-alone show, not having to rely with the Doctor's constant appearances.

In an interview with "Doctor Who" showrunner Stephen Moffat, he said, "No one has documented the dark and exhilarating world of the teenager like Patrick Ness, and now we're bringing his brilliant storytelling into "Doctor Who". This is growing up in modern Britain--but with monsters!"

After originally scheduled to be released this 2016, "Class" is now due in 2017 and will also be aired subsequently in BBC America, Polygon reported. It will be comprised of eight 45-minute episodes and will be the third spinoff from the "Doctor Who' universe. The first one was "Torchwood" and was followed by a children's show "The Sarah Jane Adventures".
