Rising star Ma Dong Seok might be paving his way towards Hollywood after his remarkable performance in "Train To Busan" captured the attention of the audience as well as the critics.

Following the success of the zombie apocalypse film, the actor has been invited by a major Hollywood studio as confirmed by Ma's label Day Dream Entertainment. "A major Hollywood studio has shown interest in Ma Dong Seok and requested a meeting," Allkpop quoted the agency as saying.

The label continued, "His Hollywood debut has been in the preparations stages for a long time, but nothing is confirmed regarding when he'll be visiting the U.S. We will consider this great opportunity carefully."

Although Ma was not present during the Cannes festival this year, many critics said he is the next actor to watch out for at the prestigious event. From the success of "Train To Busan," reports suggest the actor is currently working on his new project, causing him to miss the Cannes festival.

"When I was filming [for my new project], the staff and actors who went [to the festival] texted me saying that everyone applauded whenever I was onscreen, I was so happy that I wanted to run over there right away. I'm still very happy that the movie did well," Ma said as per Koreaboo.

The 45-year-old "Train To Busan" actor started his career in 2005 film "Heaven's Soldiers." Since his debut, Ma continued to take supporting roles for films "Nameless Gangster: Rules Of The Time," "Unjust" and "The Neighbor," which won him a Best Supporting Actor award during the 49th Baeksang Arts Awards.

Ma was the former personal trainer of Mark Coleman and Kevin Randleman for mixed martial arts before he debuted as an actor.
