UFC 205 is set to become a historic event as it features an impressive array of fighters facing each other in the octagon. As the final fight card is getting in shape, Conor McGregor will grace the fighting cage in this event while Rousey continues to wait for the right moment.

The biggest draw in UFC and MMA history is going back to the cage and this time he will be fighting for another title. According to MMA Fighting, "The Notorious" McGregor is going back to the octagon where he will vie for the UFC lightweight title against the current holder Eddie Alvarez. While McGregor will fight at a higher weight class, he will continue to his reign as the featherweight champion of UFC.

UFC 205 is considered a special event because for the first time, the biggest fight promotion in MMA is will set its stage for the first time in New York. After years of legal woes, MMA is finally legal in the state and the company did not waste time getting a fight card together for the highly anticipated event.

The McGregor-Alvarez bout is not the only championship fight in UFC 205. The fight card for the New York event also includes the welterweight title between Tyron Woodley and Stephen Thompson. Joanna Jedrzejczyk will also defend her straw weight belt against challenger Karolina Kowalkiewicz.

While some of the biggest names in UFC will be in the cage for the big event, Ronda Rousey is also added to the mix of the potential fighters who could return to the cage. However, according to Sports Illustrated, Dana White made it clear that Rousey will not be back in the cage for UFC 205. However, he did not count out the possibility of coming back before the end of the year or early next year.

But even without Rousey, the fight card presents an impressive array of fighters not only for the title fights but even for the undercards. It's an historic event since UFC will officially open its doors in New York after years of legal disputes in making MMA legal in the state.
