"Nanatsu no Taizai" or "The Seven Deadly Sins" is coming back for another season. Melodias, Elizabeth, Happy and the gang recently ended their four-episode adventure OVA and fans were treated with the season 2 announcement at the end of the special.

Fans of the popular anime/manga series "Nanatsu no Taizai" have something to look forward to in the near future: the follow-up of the popular anime series was just green lit for production. According to Anime News Network, the announcement came after the end of the four-episode OVA of the anime series. No further information was made such as the exact date of release of the anime.

For the unfamiliar, the series chronicles the adventure of Elizabeth who seeks the aid of seven warriors with aliases of the seven deadly sins. Elizabeth is a princess who wanted to ensure the kingdom's future and she seeks their help against various forces. She first meets Melodias (sin of wrath) and Happy, a talking pig and they go out to seek the rest of the gang where they eventually deal with villains who threaten the kingdom.

The series will most likely continue the story of the gang in the first season. The first season ends with Elizabeth, Melodias and the gang leaving Liones Kingdom. However, Ban and King are going on a separate way together while Merlin still has some explaining to do to Melodias about their past.

Aside from the official video announcement, chapter 192 of the manga where the series is based also made the announcement according to Crunchyroll. Those who follow the manga should know that the series should feature more adventures for Melodias and the gang. However, they will have to face different types of fighters especially when they participate in a tournament late in the series.

The exact number of episodes and the coverage of the manga are still unknown. But since the popular anime series recently ended their four episode special, the announcement of the series production pushes the premier of the second season in 2017.
