Chapter 183 of the food-themed manga "Shokugeki no Soma" was recently released and it continues the story of Soma preparing for his cooking contest against Hayama. Soma has to battle Hayama as part of his promotion exams.
The latest chapter of "Shokugeki no Soma" is already online in Manga Park and it chronicles the quest of Soma to learn more about bear meat especially on what to expect on the day of the battle. He is accompanied by Terunori and a hunter who ultimately provided them with vital information on the different types of bear meat. The hunter also gave basic information such as what to expect from the bear when hunted and carved on a specific season.
Knowing Tootski Academy's quest for excellence on all things including the ingredients, the hunter assures Soma that the bear meat will be the best possible meat the school could get. He also assures Soma of his help as soon as he could get his hands on bear meat.
Soma goes back to his lodge to practice his latest creation. He has successfully integrated five-flavor berries in his bear meat as it gains great reviews from all who taste it. However, everyone immediately proceeds to Hayama's room where he is also practicing his bear meat.
Barging into his room, Hayama immediately learns his secret by smelling his hand. Everyone is immediately impressed by Hayama's cooking especially his aroma. Soma on the other hand, is confident about his cooking. While talking to Hayama, Terunori is now begging Soma to challenge Hayama to a Shokugeki so Hayama could vacate his 9th seat.
Instead of challenging Hayama, Soma asked him why did he joined the Central Group knowing that he will be ultimately controlled by the school especially on his cooking. Hayama revealed that his choice of being part of Central and taking the 9th seat is not for himself but for Jun.
The forum on Manga Helpers that discusses latest chapter reiterates the importance of Jun to Hayama. Jun is a professor in Tootski and she literally helped Hayama out of his dire conditions when he was just a kid. Jun's position as a teacher in Tootski is threatened and Hayama's victory against Soma could secure her position.
