"Supernatural" Season 12 actor Misha Collins revealed that Castiel will gain full strength in his quest to find Lucifer. However, the character will not be able to recover his wings yet in the future episodes.
In an interview, Collins said that Castiel will continue to work with Crowley (Mark Sheppard) to search for Lucifer. The partnership will reportedly continue to have a like-hate relationship, Entertainment Weekly reported.
"He [Castiel] is closer to full power than we have seen him, I would say, in years," he said.
The actor added that the downside of gaining more strength makes his character a "bit of a jerk" and more short-tempered than before. He went to say that there are no "vestiges of Lucifer" that eaves Castiel more pissed off than before.
Castiel was previously used as the vessel of Lucifer. The ordeal had put the character in an emotionally draining situation because he feels responsible for getting Lucifer out of the cage.
In other news, showrunner Andre Gabb said that Season 12 will be digging into the past of Castiel and his relationship with Sam and Dean. The angel will also have a link with Mary. He went to say that the connection will not necessarily be a romantic one but confirmed that the two will form a bond because they have a lot in common, TV Line reported.
In other news, it had been confirmed that actor Kadeem Hardison will appear as guest star on the show. He will play the role of Russell Lemmons, an associate of new character Vince Vincente (Rick Springfield), Lucifer's new vessel.
