AMD said in the past that it is planning to release two graphics cards based on the Vega architecture sometime in 2017, and that its Navi-based graphics card will hit the market in 2018. Recently, a leaked presentation slide revealed that AMD's Navi-based graphics card will not be released until 2019, and that the company is planning to release three, instead of two, Vega-based graphics cards.

The leaked information created quite a stir in the tech community. If this leak holds any truth to it, it means that AMD will be pushing the release of Navi for a year, something that coincides with the company's recent announcement that it is pushing the release of Vega graphics cards from the second half of this year to the first half of 2017 for undisclosed reasons.

Right now, AMD has two variants of its latest architecture available in the market: the Polaris 10 and Polaris 11. The Polaris 10 is at the heart of the Radeon RX 470 and the Radeon RX 480 graphics cards. Meanwhile, the Polaris 11 architecture is on the Radeon RX 460. Based on the latest leak, AMD will release three variants of Vega graphics cards in 2017 and these are Vega 10, Vega 11, and Vega 20, according to WCCFTech.

According to Digital Trends, Vega 10 products are slated to compete with the GTX 1070 and GTX 1080 graphics cards which are both from Nvidia. There are also speculations claiming that AMD is working on a graphics card based on the Vega 11 architecture that will directly compete with Nvidia's upgraded version of the GeForce GTX Titan X.

Perhaps the most interesting tidbit of information from the latest leak is the inclusion of the Vega 20 architecture. The technology is based on GFX9 cores from GlobalFoundries' 7nm manufacturing technology. What this means is that AMD will be able to pack more cores into the Vega graphics cards giving it a significant boost in processing power and efficiency.
