The popular cult anime series "Cowboy Bebop" is now available online for streaming through Crunchyroll. After a deal with Funimation, Crunchyroll gained rights to stream popular anime TV series along with "Cowboy Bebop."

Nostalgia for the animes of late 90s has arrived in Crunchyroll as the recent agreement with Funimation allows them to stream a good number of series for fans of the genre to enjoy. Announced in Crunchyroll's official forum site, the two biggest names in US distribution of anime have agreed to share their extensive library of titles since their establishment.  One of the most coveted titles of Funimation is "Cowboy Bebop" and with the agreement, Crunchyroll can now stream episodes for their subscribers.

For the unfamiliar, "Cowboy Bebop" is a sci-fi western anime set in the future. The series' main protagonist, Spike Spiegel, is a bounty hunter joined by Jet Black and Faye Valentine. The series revolves around Spike's work as well as his deadly rivalry with Vicious. Although the anime series offers a straightforward story about the bounty hunter, impressive fight scenes and the deep background story of Spike Spiegel makes the series a must watch.

The show's popularity is immense as it has gained fans not only from regular anime viewers but even from very popular filmmakers and actors as well. According to The Atlantic, Quentin Tarantino ("Kill Bill Vol. 1"), the late great Robin Williams and Rian Johnson ("Brick") are known as big fans of the anime series. Talks of a live-action version featuring Keanu Reeves is still getting some buzz after more than a decade since the release of the anime series.

The agreement of Funimation and Crunchyroll is not only limited to "Cowboy Bebop." As two companies share their libraries, Crunchyroll subscribers can also watch "D-Grey Man Hallow" and "First Love Monster."  On the other hand, Funimation will add "Orange" and "Mob Psycho 100" in their extensive anime libraries.

The announcement is welcome news to anime fans as their access for one anime streaming company means bigger libraries. The choice of watching the series in dubbed or subbed also expands as each streaming company has exclusive library options of animes with dubbed and/or subbed versions.
