"Rock On!! 2" is one of the much-awaited movies of the year 2016. After the grand success of the 2008 rock musical drama, starring Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal, Purab Kohli and Luke Kenny, fans are now looking forward to its sequel, officially known as "Rock On!! 2." Meanwhile, movie's leading actor and producer Farhan Akhtar has teased the details of the plot of the movie. Read on for the detailed scoop.
According to Times of India, "Rock On!! 2" is based on conflict issues in the North-East region of India. Buzz is that the film has majorly been shot in Shillong, Meghalaya and will be exploring the culture of that place.
"The film really is about that place, about that culture, it is about the region's problem. The largest conflict in the movie is the regional conflict...," Farhan Akhtar revealed in an interview as quoted by the abovementioned publication. At the same time, the movie will reportedly deal with "a personal issue." However, the main focus is "the regional problem."
Elaborating on the storyline, the Indian actor revealed that "Rock On!! 2" that the movie is dedicated to rock music which is hugely popular in the North-East of India. The movie reportedly revolves around the band named Somersault and its members.
"I am very happy to do this (promote North-East music). It is important to bring everything in mainstream. Everybody in the North-East plays an instrument or they sing. You don't get to see that generally. When we were there, we had music playing 5 or 6 in the morning and no one was complaining. Everyone was enjoying that," the actor added.
Prachi Desai is expected to reprise her role in "Rock On!! 2" as Sakshi Shroff. Meanwhile, the movie has added Shraddha Kapoor as one of the main cast members.
Recently, Ritesh Sidhwani the "Rock On!!2" director shared the release date of the movie through his Twitter account. "Hello sharing the release date of #RockOn2..11/11/2016 @FarOutAkhtar @rampalarjun @ShraddhaKapoor @Purab_Kohli @ShujaatSaudagar," the actor posted on his Twitter account.
