The highly anticipated K-drama of the year 2016 "Cheese in the Trap" premiered on Jan. 4 and it has been creating quite a buzz among fans. According to the rumours, the South Korean Television series starring Yoo Jung (Park Hae-jin), Hong Seol (Kim Go-eun) and Seo Kang Joon (Baek In-ho) is expected to get extension. However, the show runners have addressed the rumours and cleared the air. Read on for details.

According to AllKpop, the producers have denied the possibility and confirmed that there will be no extra episodes for "Cheese in the Trap."

"We're thankful for the hot response and love from viewers so early on. There was never a plan to extend the series. We're not currently considering an extension," a representative to the tvN drama series said in a statement on Jan. 8, 2016.

Helmed by Lee Yoon-Jung, "Cheese in the Trap" follows the storyline of the South Korean manhwa series webtoon by Soonkki. It was first released on internet by Naver in the year 2010.

The TV series that first went on air on Jan. 4, 2016 follows the life of college students Park Hae-jin and his junior Hong Seol. The TV show explores their relationship and their life in college. While Park Hae-jin is Mr. Popular of the university, Hong Seol is a hard working girl from a humble background. To make ends meet, Hong Seol is forced to do a part time job. As for Park Hae-jin, he is a high achiever in his class and an athlete.

In the meantime, Hong Seol and Park Hae-jin come close and realise different aspects of their opposing personalities. This lead to problems in their burgeoning romance. However, Park Hae-jin has a dark side that Hong Seol may not be aware of.

According to Kpopherald, the popular TV drama brings both romance and suspense to the viewers. Meanwhile, the show is expected to feature various characters as it follows the "day-to-day college life" of the two leading characters.
