The trailers portray two opposite views of "Believe Her" or "Suspect Her" on the case of Amanda Knox murder. It depicts her asking a question to the audience, and makes the audience wonder whether she is a cold blooded murdered or an innocent victim.
In the trailers, Netflix raise an intriguing question about her, whether she is an innocent victim or a murderer. The documentary is set to come out later this month according to ABC News.
One trailer entitles "Believe Her" aims to make viewers feel that the 29-year old Knox is innocent. It begins with her voice over, "Suddenly, I found myself tossed into this dark place. I was so scared."
While in the second trailer, "Suspect Her," viewers are left wondering if Knox actually did commit the crime. She asked the audience a question, "Either I'm a psychopath in sheep's clothing, or I am you."
Filmmakers Rod Blackhurst and Brian McGinn is in charge to make the documentary, that features an in-depth interview with Knox, according to TV Guide. Other interviews with her ex-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito and prosecutor Giuliano Mignini is also included in the documentary.
The case of Amanda Knox became a controversy following the death of Meredith Kercher, who shared apartment with her in Peruggia, Italy in 2007. She found her death when she was back to their apartment after spending the night with Sollecito. During trial, controversies and tainted evidence were involved.
She was sentenced to 25 years in prison on Dec. 5, 2009. Following her verdict, the case is viewed as a justice failure in America, because of its pre-trial publicity in Italy, along with her character assasination by the prosecutor.
After a series of appeal, the Italian Supreme Court of Cassation ruled that she and Sollecitro were released from all charges on Sept. 7, 2015. She returned to America, but the question about the real perpetrator remains.
It is now up to the audience to decide whether Knox is a cold-blooded psychopath or an innocent victims who was trapped in an endless nightmare for years in foreign country. The trailers ask that question for you to answer.
