The current smartphone market is overflowing with devices sporting diverse features and range from all price points. Some companies believe that in order to make it on top, a certain model must have a unique feature. This is where the LG V20 comes in, a typical Android smartphone that is uniquely designed to fit essential requirements of audiophiles and high-end users.

The LG V20 is the successor of the V10 which was released in 2015. What made the V10 unique from the time it was released to the market was the phone's unique combination of design, camera specs, and its biggest selling point: audiophile-grade music playback.

Regarding its audio features, the V20 features a 320bit quad DAC setup. It also has a 72-stage volume control and supports lossless music format including Apple Lossless, according to The Verge.

Banking in on these strengths, LG launched the V20 with one more interesting feature: it is one of the first few smartphones that will run on the newest version of the Android mobile operating system, Android 7.0 Nougat.

In terms of design, LG ditches the stainless steel side rails of the V10 and instead used silicon polycarbonate for the V20's top and bottom segments. LG claims that the V20 is durable enough to withstand common drops. The material is rated MIL-STD 810G, meaning it is drop and shock resistant.

According to Android Authority, the LG V20 has a 5.7-inch IPS display with Quad HD resolution. On the upper right side of the display is a tiny horizontal screen that can show notifications, app shortcuts, and personal signature. Compared to the V10, the second screen is now brighter and has improved contrast.

Under the hood, the LG V20 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, with 4GB of memory and 64GB of storage space which can be expanded up to 2TB through microSD memory cards. The V20 has a 3200mAh battery pack which is replaceable. Although the battery's power rating does not really match those of the Galaxy S7 Edge of the Note 7, the fact that it is replaceable will allow users to swap dead batteries with a fresh full charged one is a welcome surprise.
