When "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" returns for Season 4, Jake & Amy's relationship will be on shaky grounds. In other developments, FOX has released the official plot details of the fall premiere.

Series star Andy Samberg, who plays Jake, previewed that his character's relationship with Amy will be tested on "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" Season 4. Since Jake has been under the witness protection program, their brief separation is going to put a strain in their relationship. However, Samberg still assures fans that this will not be a factor for them to break up.

"It's not putting it in jeopardy," Andy Samberg told Entertainment Weekly in a report.

"But they miss each other a lot. Eventually they will see each other again and it's hard for them to get back into sync."

Executive producer Dan Goor added: "It's awkward to make up time after not seeing each other for six months. When they first see each other, that might cause some tension."

In other "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" developments, FOX has released the official plot details of the Season 4 premiere via The Futon Critic. Here's how the network is describing the season opener: "Jake and Holt remain in Florida, adjusting to their new lives under the Witness Protection Program, while Jimmy 'The Butcher' Figgis is still on the loose. Their one human link to their regular lives is U.S. Marshall Karen Haas, but their anonymity may be in danger when a video of them goes viral."

Titled "Coral Palms Pt. 1," the episode will feature the guest appearance of Maya Rudolph, Rhea Perlman, Betsy Sodaro and Jorma Taccone among others. The episode will air on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 8PM on FOX.
