For centuries, Mystic Falls has been the home of supernatural creatures like vampires, witches and werewolves. Now that The CW's "The Vampire Diaries" is on its final season, many fans were wondering which vampire should decamp to New Orleans.

"The Vampire Diaries" and "The Originals" have a couple of crossover episodes in the past. In the 20th episode of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 4, dubbed "The Originals," Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan) returned to New Orleans, a city built and founded by the Mikaelson family due to a mysterious tip that a plot is brewing against him.

Since all the characters shares extreme chemistry and history, a crossover between these two supernatural series is surely a win. However, the crossover episode aired on February this year gave presumptions that it would be the turning point for the Mystic Falls vampires to move to New Orleans, Scoop Everyday reported..

During the recent Television Critics Association (TCA) Press Tour, The CW announced "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 will be cut down to 16 episodes, Zap2it reported. The show runs a regular 22-hour show in their previous seasons.

The werewolf Tyler Lockwood (Michael Trevino) may likely move to New Orleans since he shares some history with Hayley Marshall and Mikaelson. It is worth noting that Lockwood tried to kill Marshall and Mikaelson's baby to avenge his mother who had been killed by Mikaelson.

In their announcement previously, actor Ian Somerhalder and actress Kat Graham are least likely bound for New Orleans. The two said they would be leaving "The Vampire Diaries" at the end of Season 8.

Aside from the spinoff, in a Comic-Con interview with TVLine cast of "The Vampire Diaries" together with their Executive producer Julie Plec said Nina Dobrev and others might return to Mystic Falls for its final season.

The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 premieres on Oct. 21 on The CW. Check out "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 below:
