Actor Lee Jong-Suk Set for S. Korean-Chinese Drama

South Korean actor Lee Jong-Suk has been cast for an anticipated South Korean-Chinese soap opera. This will be the actor's first drama role in more than a year.

According to Yonhap News, the actor has been asked to play a number of roles for several different TV shows; however, he only chose to work with producer Jin Hyuk, whom he has done two shows before.  

The working title of the upcoming fantasy romance series is "Jade Lover," which will be set in the 1930s and will start filming in Shanghai by Jan. 2016.

The show will be produced by Hong Kong media group DMG and Jin of the South Korean terrestrial network SBS.

According to Lee's agency, "Lee has sufficiently rested since 'Pinocchio' from earlier last year." The actor is also looking into scenarios that involve domestic movies and TV dramas.

A Wellmade Yedang official said that the actor would soon be deciding which project to join in hopes of returning to South Korean TV.

The South Korean actor and model has appeared in several South Korean television shows such as "High Kick 3: Revenge of the Short Legged," and has been into modeling and acting since 2005.

The actor attended Konkuk University and majored in Professional Motion Pictures Art. In 2010, Lee had a major break in his acting career when he had acting parts in two popular South Korean television series - Secret Garden and Prosecuto Princess.

According to DramaFever, Lee's natural ability to act and charming personality has allowed him to capture the eyes and hearts of many. Not only is he well respected in his acting but many fans also adore him.

In 2008 and 2009, Lee starred in his first South Korean short film called 'Ghost'. By 2012, he came out in a movie called 'Physiognomy'.

Aside from gigs in modeling and acting, Lee also appeared in several music videos such as the Korean variety show 'Strong Heart' in 2010. He is expected to stay active in the entertainment industry for years to come.
