Custom built Xbox One controllers were introduced at E3 2016. The first batch of the controllers have been shipped to the buyers by Microsoft and is expected to be delivered by early September. The controllers are created through Xbox Design Lab and are priced $79.99 onwards.

Xbox Design Lab lets players create their own controllers. Each controller is then constructed as per the specifications provided by the buyer. According to Xbox Wire, the lab offers about eight million color combinations. The fans can also opt for laser engravings of up to 16 characters for further personalization. They can choose to engrave their gamer tag, name or any other message.

Xbox Design Lab started accepting orders in June 13 this year. Its website lets the users to save and share their customized designs using its community gallery, Twitter, Facebook or other social media tools. Except for pre-orders, the lab aims to keep the shipping time down to 14 business days.

The lab currently accepts orders for shipping to US, Canada and Puerto Rico only. However, Microsoft aims to expand its reach to other markets in the near future.

Xbox One controllers are available in various other alternatives as well. DigitalTrends reports that Xbox Elite Wireless Controller comes with back-mounted paddles which can be customized to suit player choices. Apart from the paddles, its thumbstick tension, dead zones and trigger travel can also be customized for better maneuverability.

Other option is to go for Xbox One S controller which features textured grips, fortified wireless range and Bluetooth compatibility.
