Universal Orlando Resort, in partnership with Universal Studios Hollywood, brings to life the gruesome and terrifying characters of FX's Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning television series, "American Horror Story" in this year's Halloween Horror Nights. As the acclaimed horror series continues to air, Ryan Murphy teases that the series was leaning towards a theme similar to "The Twilight Zone."

On Sept. 16, three chapters of "American Horror Story" will be haunting the nation's most intense Halloween event. Guests will be able to venture through Ryan Murphy's horror anthology and encounter terrifying creatures that will haunt their very soul. Movie Web reported that this year's Halloween Horror Nights will feature frightening mazes themed after the series' first installment, "Murder House," and will include the disturbing performers from the fourth installment "Freak Show," and the otherworldly creatures from installment five "Hotel."

John Murdy, the creative director at Universal Studios Hollywood and executive producer of Halloween Horror Nights said that "American Horror Story is one of the most disturbing television shows ever produced, and with such perverse storylines unfolding with each installment, Halloween Horror Nights is undoubtedly the only place that could create a living version of the nightmares that Ryan Murphy dreams up."

Since "American Horror Story" has been the number one most requested theme by majority of their guests, Murdy agreed to bring the series to life.

As "American Horror Story" continues to be the most anticipated horror television series, Murphy, during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, teased that they wanted to keep the details of the forthcoming season a mystery. This explains why FX has been releasing trailers that seemed hypothetical and vague, to keep the audience guessing.

Though Murphy kept his word that he wanted the details under wraps, he did reveal that the "American Horror Story" was leaning towards a theme similar to "The Twilight Zone" where each installment has their own mythology.

"American Horror Story" Season 6 is set to premiere on Sept. 14, while the mazes of Halloween Horror Nights opens on Sept. 16.
