Big Bang's Lee Seung-hyun, better known as Seungri, has apparently been a victim of real estate fraud and has been swindled with billions of won.
Last Monday, Jan. 4, the Big Bang's youngest member was reported to file a lawsuit against female singer Shin Eun Sung, who is said to have swindled him out of 2 billion KRW (or around US$1.678 million).
Big Bang's Seungri filed a lawsuit after he lost his money in a real estate scam. Following the announcement of the lawsuit, YG Entertainment (Big Bang's agency) announced that it plans to take a joint action along with Seungri's personal lawsuit.
According to prosecution, the female singer Shin disappeared with around 2 billion won, or US$1.6 million. On June 2014, she approached Suengri with a real estate investment proposal and as he was acquainted with her, he agreed to invest a huge amount of money. He gave her 2 billion KRW to invest in a building. By August, she approached him once again asking for additional 50 million won, or approximately US$43,000, giving a total of 2.05 billion won.
As per Korea's Segye Ilbo, he didn't see any return of investments, so Seungri filed a lawsuit against the former singer on December 29, 2015. It was for fraud and scam. The public will know more about updates and progress once hearings take place soon.
Female singer Shin was very active in early 2000's with her 2013 first album release "Go Away," with New Silver Star. In 2004, it was followed by her second album "Bye Bye." Just recently, she closed down an entertainment agency she personally founded, making the media unable to reach her for comments.
Seungri spent much of his 2015 by working on Big Bang's comeback project "MADE" and touring the whole world with the other Big Bang members.
