The team behind the "Dark Souls" series have announced that two DLCs will be released, the first of which will be released soon. Based on the company's Twitter account, Aug. 24 will be the date that a major announcement will be unveiled.

This actually means that From Software will be releasing the first downloadable content for hit action RPG "Dark Souls 3." It was also claimed that there are two DLC expansions thanks to a Season Pass showed up in digital storefronts earlier this year. It is possible that each of the DLCs would be made available separately, too.

Reports from iTech Post also mentioned "Dark Souls 3" director Hidetaka Miyazaki revealing the release date of the first DLC being at Fall (highly likely to be September). The second one is expected for release around early 2017. Specific dates, however, have yet to be revealed.

There were earlier reports that revealed that the expansion packs will contain new maps, new bosses and an arsenal of new weapons. However, whether or not they will be used or changed in the final release is anyone's guess.

According to Express, while fans wait for the details on the actual release, From Software and Bandai Namco also mentioned that a new update will be made available on Aug. 25. Once released, the 1.07 patch will address several problems in the game such as balance and performance issues.

"Dark Souls 3" is the fourth game in the whole series (the first being "Demon Souls"). It was first released in Japan in March 2016, and worldwide in April 2016 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows. The critically-acclaimed action RPG was a huge commercial success, generally receiving positive reviews. It also took the spot of being the fastest-selling game in Bandai Namco's records, selling over three million copies worldwide in two months since its release.
