"How to Get Away with Murder" has recruited two new actors to join Season 3. Esai Morales (NYPD Blue) and Amy Madigan (Grey's Anatomy) have booked guest starring roles on the upcoming season of the hit ABC drama.
The casting of Morales and Madigan on "How to Get Away with Murder" Season 3 was announced by creator and executive producer Pete Nowalk at the Television Critics Press (TCA) tour on Thursday, TV Line has learned. However, the showrunner did not spill any details about their characters. It is also yet to be determined if the duo will stick around for multi-episodes.
The casting marks Madigan's second gig on Shondaland, following her recurring guest stint on "Grey's Anatomy" as Meredith's psychiatrist. Morales, for his part, has played a captain on "NYPD Blue." His secret role on "How To Get Away With Murder" Season 3 will mark as his first ever participation on the shows ran by uber-producer Shonda Rhimes.
Madigan and Morales join previously cast Luna Velez, who has boarded "How to Get Away With Murder" Season 3 as a recurring guest star. Velez, known for her role on Showtime's "Dexter," will play the President of Middleton University, TV Line reported.
According to the casting report, Velez's character on "How to Get Away with Murder" Season 3 is still unnamed. However, she has been described as someone who is "self-assured, friendly, warm and diplomatic." Whether or not she will be a friend or a foe to Annalise Keating remains to be seen.
"How to Get Away with Murder" stars Viola Davis, Aja Naomi King, Jack Falahee, Matt McGrorry, Liza Weil and Charlie Webber. Season 3 is slated to premiere on Thursday, Sept. 22 at 10PM on ABC.
