"Stranger Things" Season 2 revealed that it will still cast the same stars from the original series. The Duffer Brothers reportedly want to copy the same cast model that "Harry Potter" adopted. The dream is a "Harry Potter" situation according to Matt Duffer.
"Stranger Things" Season 2 is currently being compared to "Harry Potter" by the media because the two franchises both have relatively young lead stars. The pool of talented young cast members of the series is intensively covered by the media in the same way that Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint were covered in 2000. The production is not looking to start with fresh cast each year, but they want to see their cast age each season, Entertainment Weekly reported.
"Stranger Things" Season 2 production has not been officially announced and confirmed. However, Netflix is reportedly renewing the series for a second season which will still be created and ran by the Duffer Brothers. Reports also claim that they are already preparing the major plot points of "Stranger Things" Season 2.
Meanwhile, "Stranger Things," the '80s inspired science fiction Netflix series was announced as the third most-watched original scripted series on Netflix, the Independent UK reported. The solid numbers gathered by "Stranger Things" may allow Netflix and its producers to place an even stronger case for the streaming service to produce and develop "Stranger Things" Season 2.
"Stranger Things" Season 2 cast members include a handful of child actors such as Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson) and Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair). The show is expected to be available for streaming starting late 2017.
