Jai Courtney shares that he has been unattached to "The Terminator" franchise as of date. The actor who played Kyle Reese in "Terminator: Genisys" thinks that it's time to give it a rest; however, Arnold Schwarzenegger said that he would be back as James Cameron will pick up the film.
"The Terminator: Genisys" did not win favorable reviews by its audience and was even considered a flock of epic proportions. Due to the film's failure, Courtney chose to distance him from the franchise. He was honest when he told Business Insider that he thinks Paramount should just give the film a rest, but added that if they find something to work around it, he would still take the call. The same source reported that Cameron might be getting his rights for the franchise sometime in 2019.
According to Slash Film, there have been too many disappointments with "The Terminator" franchise. Critics think that the studio should give the film enough time to recover from its negative ratings and just opt for a reboot someday. Though the idea for making "The Terminator: Genisys" was to kick start for a reboot, the new timeline and plot just wasn't interesting enough. Despite Courtney saying there were no future sequels for the franchise, Schwarzenegger said that he would be returning.
Meanwhile, "The Terminator" caused a gun scare in Toronto. The Toronto police department responded to a report of a man seen with a gun. The police searched the scene only to find that the alleged was a cut out of Schwarzenegger holding a gun.
