It has been reported that Sylvester Stallone is working on an all-female version of the film "The Expendables," with big name female stars being considered for the roles; however, this was flatly denied by the superstar actor.

According to Movie News Guide, the movie will be called "Expendabelles" and will be directed by Robert Lebovic. The same publication further reported that Randy Couture, who starred with Stallone in the three "The Expendables" movies, revealed that he is hearing about the movie for the past two years, and that the movie is already in the works.

Names of big female stars have been reportedly floated as possible cast members of "Expendabelles," which includes Meryl Streep, Mila Jovovich and Cameron Diaz. Sigourney Weaver, who was reportedly being eyed by Stallone in 2014 to be one of the leads in the project, confirmed that there have been talks but the deal did not push through.

Couture also stated that he had heard a script has already been developed for "The Expendables 4," and that they will start shooting in the fall, but is now hearing reports that the movie will be pushed back in favor of "Expendabelles."

Stallone has denied any involvement in the film and dismissed these rumors as completely false, according to Deadline. The actor's representative recently spoke to media to state that Stallone has absolutely no plans to be associated with the movie, and rumors that he is planning to proceed with the all-female film should be disregarded totally.

"Expendabelles" is rumored to being written by Kirsten Smith and Karen McCullah who collaborated in "Legally Blond." McCullah and Smith are known for their inclination for girl power movement scripts, which will surely suit the all-female version of "Expendables" in case it'll materialize.
