It has recently been reported that long time celebrity couple Soyeon and Oh Jong Hyuk have decided to go their separate ways.
According to Allkpop, the respective agencies of both Soyeon and Oh Jong Hyuk have confirmed the separation to the media in July 5, citing the couple's busy schedules as the reason for the split.
In their statement, DSP Media, which handles Oh Jong Hyuk, confirmed the break up, stating that they are not aware of the exact timing. They also stated that they cannot comment on the matter any further as it is something private to be treated with respect.
T-ara's agency, MBK Entertainment, likewise confirmed the news and stated that the celebrity couple drifted apart from each other due to their focus on their schedules and entertainment activities. MBK Entertainment also stated that the couple, who have dated for six years, will keep supporting each other and will maintain a good relationship, according to Soompi.
Despite claiming that the breakup was cordial and that there is no bad blood between them, the two stars apparently decided to unfollow each other in social media, leaving fans speculating as to the true nature of the break-up.
The news of the split-up has surprised a lot of fans and left them disappointed and upset. Many fans have long hoped that the couple will end up together and that marriage is in the cards in the future. Oh Jong Hyuk, however, in an interview last October, stated that they are not thinking of marriage at this time and are just dating happily and enjoying each other's company. The actor also stated that he was in no hurry to get married.
Soyeon and Oh Jong Hyuk met on 2010 on MBC's "Bouquet" and started dating since then.
