Since "Transformers 5: The Last Knight" is already in production, recent updates reveal that Tyrese Gibson will be reprising his role as Robert Epps while Josh Duhamel will return as William Lennox. The veteran Bumblebee will also be returning with new upgrades, and perhaps taking a more challenging role.

Director Michael Bay personally revealed via Digital Trends that Bumblebee has been upgraded into a 2016 Chevrolet Camaro, and he is now complete with all the possible advanced alien technology.

According to International Business Times, the plot starts off with Prime discovering that his home planet Cybertron is destroyed and he is linked to its distortion. In order to restore his home planet, he has to find an artifact hidden somewhere on Earth. Tracing back to the robots history, it is said that an autobot once gave Merlin, King Arthur's magician, his powers. This explains why several leaks suggest that the missing object could be King Arthur's legendary Excalibur sword.

In the absence of Optimus Prime, Bumblebee is to take over his role in leading the autobots on Earth while protecting Cade Yeager and his family from the Decepticon's.

Bay also took to social media to reveal a new cast for "Transformers 5: The Last Knight" and a new autobot. He recently uploaded a photo in his twitter account introducing a young star, Isbela Moner, who will play the role of an orphaned girl named Izabella. She is friends with a new transformer named Squeeks, and the two will eventually cross paths with Yeager.

Surprisingly, another character that will make a return is Megatron. Bay did not reveal a lot of information regarding his comeback to maintain the fan's suspicions.

The target date for the release of the film is June 23, 2017 for both the United States and the United Kingdom.
