Singer Rita Ora is one tough lad after she threatened to kill a thief who broke into her home in Kensal Rise, northwest London, in a frantic 999 call, a court hearing has revealed.

The call, where the hysterical singer was heard screaming and swearing, was played to the jury on Wednesday, June 22.

The singer told Harrow Crown Court that she and her sister Elena were asleep when two men broke into her house on November 28 last year, the Mirror reported.

The 25-year-old singer claims she was still half-asleep when she was awakened by her sister who was running up the stairs towards her room, according to BBC.

"I opened the door ... then she jumped on my bed and started screaming."

After securely locking her bedroom door, Ora said she made the emergency call and asked for help.

"I need you to come now, there is a robber in my house," she said. "I've just locked myself in my room, my sister saw him in her room. Please send them round now."

The court also heard the operator asking where her sister is and Rita gasping in shock when her sister explained what just happened.

Rita Ora was heard saying: "Don't you f***ing come up these stairs. I will f*** you up - you f***ing hear me?"

"Oh my God I don't have a knife, I know they're going to come upstairs. What do I do - what do I do - oh my God?" she said. "What do you want me to do now? I will kill him."

After hearing the recording, the singer, who gave her testimony behind a curtain, became emotional and burst into tears, BBC reported.

"That phone call freaked me out a bit - give me a moment," she said.

Elena, on the other hand, said she was "overwhelmed with fear" upon seeing the thief, claiming "At one point, he was an arm's length away which was really scary because it means he was looking at me directly while I was asleep."

The presiding prosecutor Mark Kinsey believed Rita's house was intentionally chosen by the culprits.

The alleged suspect was identified as Charaf Elmoudden and an accomplice. The two reportedly stole £200,000 worth of her belongings including some jewelry, iPhones, Apple Mac computers, clothes and bags, according to Sky News.

Meanwhile, in defense, Elmoudden, 26, from Sydney Road, Muswell Hill, north London, claims he was innocent and has called for his phone to be traced to prove that at the time of the burglary, he was in his house with his partner.

However, Elena confirmed Elmoudden in an identity parade on January 15, explaining she "wouldn't forget that face."

 The trial continues.
