The United States was rocked over the weekend due to the shooting death of Christina Grimmie as well as the mass shooting at a gay club both in Orlando, Florida. People from all over the world have expressed their condolences to relatives of the victims of both shootings.
Korean stars are among the people showing their support for the U.S. in the wake of this tragic weekend.
According to KPop Herald, G-Dragon of the band Big Bang took to Twitter to use the hashtag "prayfororlando" after the news broke. Yubin from the girl group Wonder Girls also took to Instagram to post a photo of a heart with the dominant colors representing the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transsexual (LGBT) community. Up to 50 people died, and 53 were injured after a shooting at Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando.
South Korean singer Jo Kwon, who is part of the boy band 2AM, posted a photo of a rainbow flag on his Instagram account. He simply captioned it with the hashtag "#prayfororlando" and a rainbow emoji.
Brian Joo, best known as Brian, also released a statement regarding the matter. Brian is an American R&B and K-pop recording artists who shuttles between the U.S. and South Korea. "Just heard about the disturbing shooting in Orlando, Florida ~ Praying for all the victims and the victims' families~ Let's spread love & not hate," he said in a statement.
The mass shooting in Orlando is being dubbed as the worst in American history.
