"Attack on Titan" will be back with its second season in early January 2017, or in February. Apparently, the delay is for the manga to have enough story arcs before a new season starts.

A leaked video has fanned wild fan speculation about the storyline for the upcoming season. The sneak peek shows Hange and her troops discovering a Titan inside the wall. Without giving any reasons, Pastor Nick then commands them to cover the wall. A brief altercation with Pastor Nick left the troops wondering if Pastor Nick knows more than what he has led others to believe.

Also, according to CrossMap, the new season will feature several new personalities including Captain Kenny Ackerman of the Military Police Brigade's First Interior Squad and the protector of the King. "Attack on Titan" Season 2 is expected to also delve into the backstory of several key narrative elements, such as the King of Mankind, Uri Reiss, and his daughter Frieda, who is next in line to the throne. With the Reiss clan involved, the truth about the Titans in the wall will surely be included in a future episode or two.

Another interesting tidbit is the introduction of the Beast Titan, which is said to be larger than the Colossal Titan, and can summon other Titans to attack by howling. Furthermore, other Titans may also be hiding within the ranks of the Survey Corps. Quite possibly, viewers may have the chance to identify whether or not the Colossal Titan and Armored Titan are part of the established cast of characters.
