Philippine movie stars KC Concepcion, James Yap, Joey Albert, Ogie Alcasid, Apl. De Ap, and Yassi Pressman represented their country in the annual Philippine Independence Day Parade hosted in New York City, on Tuesday, June 7. The theme of this year's celebration is about Filipino Solidarity.

The stars attended the parade to celebrate the solidarity of Filipinos. They exhibited the Filipino faith, tradition, and culture through music and live performances in honor of their country and forefathers.

KC Concepcion, the daughter of renowned mega star Sharon Cuneta, announced that she was proud to be a Filipina. On her Instagram account, Concepcion posted a photo of herself wearing a Mark Bumgarner gown. The post has been liked by up to 1.4 million people.

At the parade, Filipina artist Yassi Pressman wore an elegant white dress handmade by Filipino designer Paolo Lazaro. Pressman revealed that ten Filipinos worked hard to create the gown she was wearing. Many who saw her during the show commented on how beautiful the intricate designs were.

James, on the other hand, was in a float with Filipino children residing in different states in the US and was proud to promote the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) in New York. The beautiful voices of Apl. De. Ap and Ogie Alcasid were also appreciated when they sang a Tagalog song entitled "Nandito Ako."

Philippine Consul General to New York, Ambassador Mario Lopez de Leon Jr. expressed his gratitude to the people who turned up for the event. Despite a delay because of the sudden downpour of rain, the parade continued merrily.
