Taiwanese actress and singer-songwriter Michelle Chen will be getting married this July in Beijing, and ahead of the big day, she is rumored to be pregnant. But she downplayed the speculations in a recent statement.
Chen said that she will be the one to announce it immediately once she becomes pregnant.
The rumors arose after Chen and her husband-to-be, Chen Xiao, moved their wedding at an earlier date. They were initially set to tie the knot later this year but moved it to July. Many are speculating that the move is due to the fact that Chen is pregnant.
The wedding of Chen and Xiao will take place in Beijing, China on July 19 and a banquet will be held in Taipei, Taiwan on July 21.
The two were first linked back in August last year after the Chinese actor and the Taiwanese actress were seen dropping by each other's set. They were also seen spending a night in the same hotel.
When news about them being romantically linked broke, Xiao immediately confirmed that he and Chen are dating. He took to his Sina Weibo to write a message about Chen: "One day, you and I will share the same surname." A snap of his hand forming half of the shape of a heart was posted together with the statement directed to Chen.
Chen responded to the message by also posting a photo of her hand forming the other half of the heart shape.
The two got engaged a month after. The two were vacationing in Paris in October 2015 when Xiao knelt down to ask for Chen's hand in marriage. To make things officials, Chen took Xiao to her hometown in Taiwan to spend the Lunar New Year with her family.
Due to the marriage preparations, Xiao will only be able to accept projects that will end by June. His projects that are lined up include Twilight of the Empire, Love & Life & Lie, and Love in the Air.
Chen'S last acting gig was for the film Pali Road. She is best known for her movie, You Are the Apple of My Eye.
