Rain to make his big screen comeback in ‘Uhm Bok Dong’ with Kang Sora and Min Hyo RinBy / 2017.05.10
After three long years of shying away from the big screen, Rain will finally make his movie comeback in "Uhm Bok Dong" where he will portray the life of the legendary cyclist.
According to Koreaboo, the upcoming film will center on the life story of Uhm Bok Bong who became known for his achievements as a cyclist. His popularity turned into tragedy when he was killed by a bomb explosion in Dongducheon in 1951.
Rain will play the title character, while Kang Sora will act as Kim Hyun Shin, a member of an independence movement led by Hwang Jae Ho, played by Lee Bum Soo. Min Hyo Rin's character, on the other hand, is still unknown at the moment of writing.
"Uhm Bok Dong" is currently filming for a possible release the second half of the year. The four actors will be joined by Park Jin Joo and Lee Shi Un for the upcoming biographical film.
Fans of the singer-actor were thrilled to hear about Rain's big screen comeback this year. Most of them have been waiting to see more of Rain after the male celebrity took a short breather after he got married with Kim Tae Hee in January.
The last time Rain starred in a Korean film was in 2012 for "R2B: Return to Base" where he played as a former Black Eagles pilot. Aside from that, he took part in several Hollywood movies including "Speed Racer (2008)," "Ninja Assassin (2009)" and "The Prince (2014.)
His last big screen project was with "For Love or Money," a 2014 Chinese romance film directed by Gao Xixi. Rain recently appeared in "Please Come Back, Mister" as Lee Hae Joon/Kim Young Soo.
