Ji Chang Wook praised for portrayal of prosecutor role in ‘Suspicious Partner’

Ji Chang Wook is best known for his action roles in "The K2" and "Healer." But fans can expect a different side of the actor in his feature romcom drama "Suspicious Partner."

For the upcoming SBS series, the 29-year-old actor will play the role of Noh Ji Wook, a genius prosecutor who is suffering from childhood trauma. He will be joined by Nam Ji Hyun, a trainee prosecutor who was later accused for a murder case.

"Ji Chang Wook went above and beyond my expectations with his portrayal of his character as a genius prosecutor," PD Park Sun Ho said as per Soompi. He is excellent at making subtle emotional shifts while filming and is very good at adjusting to other actors' performances as well."

The PD even complimented Ji Chang Wook's attitude while on the set of "Suspicious Partner." Park Sun Ho specifically mentioned the actor's gaze which he said speaks a lot of emotions.

Apart from his professionalism, the actor was also commended for his personality. The PD revealed that Ji Chang Wook is not only close to his leading lady, but also to all his co-actors in the romcom series.

"Plus, he's very well-mannered on set and creates a good, fun atmosphere for filming. This is why I am completely satisfied with the casting of Ji Chang Wook in this drama," Park Sun Ho added.

The actor, who previously earned the title "Dancing Machine," danced to the beat of "Papa Americano" in the teaser of the SBS drama. Allkpop cited the political-themed concept was decided to match Korea's presidential election of Korea happening on May 9, a day before the drama premieres.

Ji Chang Wook along with Nam Ji Hyun, Choi Tae Joon, and Nara of Hello Venus led the political rally where they performed a dance number in front of a crowd.

"Suspicious Partner" will take over the Wednesday-Thursday 10:00 pm (KST) timeslot of SBS starting May 10.
