Why Ex-Girl's Generation Member Jessica Jung Cancelled Guest Appearance on SBS Radio Show

Former Girl's Generation member Jessica Jung canceled her SBS radio show on Monday after the singer's agency, and the production house reportedly had some sort of miscommunication.

The 27-year-old singer was invited on Wednesday, May 24 to the radio talk show Lee Guk-joo's Young Street. However, SBS "informed" Jung's agency that the singer's invitation to the show has been revoked. The station even removed the Q&A bulletin board where fans could ask questions about the singer without prompting any discussions, according to her agency Coridel Entertainment.

Disappointed over the sudden cancellation of the show, Jung's representatives are asking SBS for a valid explanation.

"[Her appearance] was decided upon last Wednesday, and then her scheduled appearance was cancelled on the weekend," a representative from Jung's camp said. "We haven't heard the exact reason for the cancellation. She is very disappointed because she had been preparing to perform live."

On the other hand, SBS argues that Coridel Entertainment wanted an exclusive appearance on the show. Initially, Jo Moon Geun Band was invited as the show's main guest, and Jung was only to make an appearance.

So to cater the agency's request, SBS put the Fly singer on another show of the same network instead called Park So-hyun's Love Game.

However, Coridel Entertainment denied the radio station's argument and insisted that the singer was already scheduled to appear on Park So-hyun's Love Game.

"We told SBS that we are okay with the joint appearance on the show," an insider from the agency said.

In a statement issued by SBS, the broadcasting channel said the cancellation was "SBS's one-sided notice" and it was relayed beforehand.

"It is simply a misunderstanding. We heard that [the appearance] was canceled after both sides discussed it," SBS said.

Amid all the miscommunication gap, the American-born singer described the entire circumstance as "humorous."

"I laughed so much! Today. Extremely humorous. Haha. Guys~ We don't even have enough time to celebrate and be happy in this moment- this time right now! It's such a waste to spend it somewhere else~ Smile! You can fly. Thank you and congratulations. Your heart and my heart," the singer posted on her social media account.
