Actor and singer David Cassidy told the press just days after his performance in Agoura Hills, California that he is struggling with Dementia. This is also the reason why will no longer tour and will just focus on his health and personal life.
People Magazine reported that Cassidy, 66, is fighting with dementia, the same disease that took the life of his mother. He was a little bit scared of the fact that he too could suffer the same thing. Cassidy is known for his character Keith on that 70s TV show, "The Partridge Family."
It has been over 4 decades now since that show aired and the former teen heartthrob still has a lot of loyal fans who go to his show whenever he is in their town. But according to The Washington Post, it will be the last year of Cassidy to tour and make music due to his case with dementia.
His recent performance at The Canyon Club in Agoura Hills took a left turn when he fell off the stage while playing the guitar. Some people thought he was just drunk but apparently, his health was in real danger. The singer couldn't even remember the lyrics to his songs that he has been singing for 50 years now. This happened to him during his shows in Vegas and California.
Cassidy said that he was in denial at first when the doctor gave him the diagnosis. He couldn't accept it but he always thought it is going to happen since he saw how his mother disappeared until she took her last breath at the age of 89. He admitted that he was scared he would die the same way.
The 66-year-old singer then decided to just stop touring to focus on his health. In his recent interview with the press, he said that he wants to focus on what he is and who he is without any distractions.
