  • Executive producer James Corden of the television show “Carpool Karaoke” spoke onstage during the CBS portion of the 2017 Winter Television Critics Association Press Tour at the Langham Hotel on Jan. 9 in Pasadena, California.
  • Sandra Bullock visited “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” at Rockefeller Center on Oct. 28, 2015 in New York City.
  • Actress Anne Hathaway attended the 15th Annual AFI Awards at Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills on Jan. 9, 2015 in Beverly Hills, California.

"The Late Late Show" host James Corden joins "Miss Congeniality" actress Sandra Bullock and "The Devil Wears Prada" actress Anne Hathaway in the crime-caper spinoff "Ocean's Eight." "The Hunger Games" director Gary Ross is directing for Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow Pictures.

According to Variety, Corden is taking a role as an insurance investigator in "Ocean's Eight." His character is the leader of a group of thieves and cons, who try to pull off a major heist in New York. "Billions" actor Damian Lewis will play Bullock's ex-lover and the target of the gang's robbery.

It is good part and a good opportunity to scout for future Carpool Karaoke candidates. Joining Corden in "Ocean's Eight" stars Bullock (Debbie Ocean), "Jungle Book" actress Cate Blanchett (Lou), Hathaway (Daphne Kluger), "The Mindy Project" actress Mindy Kaling (Amita), "American Horror Story" actress Sarah Paulson (Tammy), "Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising" actress Awkwafina (Constance), "Bates Motel" actress-singer Rihanna, and "Alice in Wonderland" actress Helena Bonham Carter (Rose), Deadline reported.

The script of "Ocean's Eight" is co-written by Ross and Olivia Milch. "Ocean's Eleven" director Steven Soderbergh and Ross will produce with executive producer Susan Ekins. Village Roadshow is co-producing and co-financing, as it did with the three previous "Ocean's" movies (2001, 2014, and 2007, respectively) starring George Clooney and Brad Pitt.

Corden is certainly in high demand, also hosting the Grammy Awards on Feb. 12. On the movie front, he most recently provided a voice in "Trolls" and co-starred with Maggie Smith and Jim Broadbent in "The Lady in the Van," and before that "Into the Woods" and "Begin Again."

Corden continues to host "The Late Late Show With James Corden." He also voiced roles in the upcoming "The Emoji Movie" and "Peter Rabbit." He is represented by CAA, United Agents, and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern.

Warner Bros. has set a release date of June 8, 2018, for "Ocean's Eight."
