"Modern Family" has plotted a fun Valentine's Day episode this year. The show is bringing back Elizabeth Banks as Cam and Mitch's friend Sal and Nathan Fillion as Rainer Shine.
According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, viewers will find Sal crashing Cam and Mitch's romantic date night with Haley when Sal's German boyfriend goes out of town. The site also teased a "potential heartbreak" happening to Haley as she will see Rainer at a bar with another woman.
Fans will remember that Banks was last seen during season 6's episode "Fight or Flight" when Mitch, Cameron and Pepper arranged a belated baby shower for Sal.
The Valentine's Day episode will also feature the return of Phil's alter ego, Clive Bixby. Per ABC's official synopsis, Phil brings back Clive to get Valentines day back on track between him and Claire. Elsewhere, Alex discovers that she has a secret admirer who may be a little too involved with family.
The episode, titled "Do You Believe In Magic?" will air on Feb. 8th.
In addition to Banks and Fillion, "Modern Family" will also feature the guest starring appearance of Victor Garber (Legends of Tomorrow) in season 8. He will play Chef Dumont, a celebrity chef who will be Claire's latest obsession. In the episode, also slated to air this month, Claire tags along Hayley to attend one of his classes.
Created by Steven Levitan, "Modern Family" takes a modern and often hilarious look at the complications that come with being a family today. The situational comedy has established itself as one of ABC's highly-acclaimed TV shows since it premiered in 2009. Over the years, the show has earned multiple Emmy awards for best comedy series.
The cast includes Ariel Winter, Ed O'Neil, Eric Stonestreet, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Julie Bowen, Nolan Gould, Rico Rodriguez, Sarah Hyland, Sofia Vergara and Ty Burrell.
"Modern Family" airs every Wednesday at 9PM on ABC.
