Following the success of tvN's "Cheese in the Trap" TV series, a movie version of the story is being developed and some of the main roles have already been filled up by top actors.

The original "Cheese in the Trap" TV series was based on the Korean webtoon that revolves around two students who faces troubles in their relationships due to their opposite personalities. The drama series became immensely popular in South Korea and the rest of Asia, prompting creators to develop the show into a movie.

Hong Seol, which was portrayed by Kim Go Eun in the drama series, will be portrayed by actress Oh Yeon Seo in the "Cheese in the Trap" movie. According to Koreaboo, Park Ki Woong will play Baek In Ho. Meanwhile, Park Hae Jin will reprise his role as Yoo Jung.

"Despite the risk of being stuck with the same image, among many others, I arrived at this difficult decision due to my affection towards the project and the character," Park Hae Jin said about his decision to reprise his role.

TvN's 16-episode "Cheese in the Trap" secured a massive following during the early parts of its release. However, it's success fizzled on the way to its finale. Many fans were particularly disappointed by the cliffhanger ending, and the fact that the TV show failed to capture the conclusion of Yoo Jung and Hong Seol's relationship. This was due in part that the webtoon was not yet completed at the time "Cheese in the Trap" aired its final episode.

According to allkpop, Mountain Movement Story is producing the "Cheese in the Trap" movie. It was also revealed that the movie adaption is a collaborative project by Korean and Chinese production teams.

Filming for the "Cheese in the Trap" movie will begin in February 2017.
