NBA Injury Report: Kevin Love is sidelined again due back spasm

Kevin Love missed another game against his former team Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday, Feb. 1 as his back spams continued bothering him. His discomfort began on Sunday during the game against Oklahoma City Thunder.

He underwent an MRI on Monday on Monday, Jan. 30 to examine his back according to NBA.com. Fortunately there was no structural damage, but he will miss more game to allow his recurring back spams to recover.

His back spasm recurred after first half of the 107-91 winnin game over Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday, Jan. 29. He has been bothered with his lower back pain back for the past few weeks, and the pain really dismayed himo Sunday, so he must walk out and left the game.

The 6’10” power forward had to stay in Cleveland to have his MRI and treatment while his team went to Dallas to face the Mavericks on Monday. Cavaliers were outscored and outplayed by the Mavericks which currently at the bottom three position in Western Conference. Dallas Mavericks defeated the Cavaliers 97-104 at the American Airlines Center.

Prior to his problem in lower back, Love was having food poisoning in New Year’s day after eating a bad sea bass in Charlotte. Regardless of his condition at that time, he still managed to play well the against Pelicans before coach Tyronn Lue sit him for rest of the game after 24 minutes. .

This time he suffer a back spasm which made him miss another game this Wednesday against his former team Minnesota Timberwolves, as the Cavaliers won 125-97. Prior to the game, he tried to workout under the supervision of assistant coach Phil Handy on Wednesday according to cleveland.com. He seemed to be comfortable to do a layup and post-up drill without showing any pain.

His comeback may get closer, but status of his conditions remain unclear because the problem in his lower back may occur again. Watch the history of Kevin Love’s injury below:
