As Koei Tecmo pushes its own epic version of "Dark Souls" titled "NiOh" towards its release date in early February, we'll be getting more and more bits of information of game itself such as the protagonist William, gameplay, the world and the characters. Today, we're getting a scoop (and a trailer) of William's nemesis, Edward Kelley, and their reunion.

According to Dualshockers, "NiOh" studio Koei Tecmo has just released a trailer showcasing one of the cutscenes of the game that features William facing off an old nemesis of his, Edward Kelley. It looks like that the villain has the ability to shapeshift into the people whose souls he captured. Upon transforming, Edward sports a pale look with arcane symbols tattooed on his chest, as well as wearing a hooded black garb.

An earlier report gives a more in-depth detail on the villain, saying that he dabbles in dark alchemy, which he uses to throw William off during battles. Edward's guardian spirit is the Uroboros, based on the ancient symbol depicting a serpent or dragon eating its own tail, which depicts the significance of the cycle, including destruction and creation, or death and rebirth. Edward also has the power to raise the dead and can infuse demonic energies into human bodies with his skill of dark alchemy.

An overview of "NiOh" can be found in the official PlayStation website for those who want to be familiar with this upcoming epic:

"In Nioh, players will traverse war-torn Japan as William, a blonde-haired swordsman whose background as a fierce warrior and seasoned knowledge of the blade allows him to survive in the demon-plagued land of the samurai. Known as Yokai, these demons inhabit a number of dangerous locations and lie in wait in the shadows to ambush unsuspecting victims. Players will also face off with other samurai in supernatural sword battles and intense, multi-target engagements offering a level of difficulty that will truly test even the most hardened samurai's skills, patience, and strategy.

Offering a deep and original storyline that takes place during the Warring States Period of Japanese history alongside strategic sword-fighting action, Nioh will challenge players in a way that makes every mission and accomplishment feel earned and worthwhile."

"NiOh" will be released in North America on Feb. 7, while Europe gets a Feb. 8 release date followed by Japan on Feb. 9.
