Red Velvet release teaser photos for 'Rookie' comeback; Group deciding on official fanclub name

Red Velvet is gearing up for a grand comeback to kick start the year for the group and SM Entertainment. The agency confirms that the female quintet will stage a comeback early in February, and they've already begun teasing fans with the release of promotional photos.

The individual teaser photos for Joy, Yeri, Irene and Wendy for Red Velvet's "Rookie" comeback is now out. In typical Red Velvet fashion, the group's concept for "Rookie" is very colorful and bright. The photos also feature images of various desserts and fruits. The teaser photos also include the comeback date, which is February 1.

Together with the release of the photos was the launch of Red Velvet's comeback website, in which the group introduces a game called "I Spy," which is free to play for fans who visit the website, Soompi reports.

The official teaser clip for Red Velvet's "Rookie" also gives a glimpse of the colorful world that awaits fans when the group marks their return this February. The clip also samples a catchy, upbeat tune that will definitely make fans dance.

A representative from SM Entertainment reveals that Red Velvet's promotions will begin in the first week of February. According to Soompi, this is the group's first promotions since "Russian Roulette" in September 2016.

Meanwhile, the members of Red Velvet have been making a buzz outside of the group. Irene recently topped the "Best Girl Group Center" list on KBS Joy's "Chart Men." Seulgi and Irene were also included in the Independent Critics' annual "100 Most Beautiful Faces of 2016" list.

For Red Velvet's 2017 comeback, fans working together to find a name for the group's official fan club. An official notice was posted on SM Entertainment's website, which stated that fans can submit their recommendations through email until Feb. 5. The name will be selected by the members of Red Velvet themselves and will be revealed on their official website.
