AnimeJapan 2015, one of the largest anime festivals in Japan, offers visitors entertainment such as stage performances, screenings, workshops, cosplaying areas, and shops to buy exclusive goods themed on popular anime, to promote the industry.

According to reviews the almost dark comedy type anime, "Saga of Tanya the Evil" is fun to watch due to its unique sense of humor, weirdly cool fight scenes, snappy direction, and smart character driven dialogues. Besides these over the top elements, one of the craziest things noticeable about this anime series is its transitions, especially the cuts. This is an element that works pretty well with the show, making it even more fun to watch, according to critics.

The show is about an arrogant well paid man from Japan who blasphemes God and is sent to a World War I-like alternate world. In that alternate universe that looks like a 1910 Europe he is reborn as a 9-year-old girl who happens to be a Second Lieutenant Soldier named Tanya Degurechaff. She easily turned into a fascist soldier who thinks of nothing but her own advancement in the ranks.

The mise en scène of every shot gives information on the characters movement and emotion, Crunchy Roll reported. The overall look of a scene is not enough to convey a message as transitions and cuts are also very important for the consistency of how the story is told. Abrupt cuts can portray fast action, while transitions can connect certain elements in a show, and episodes 2 and 3 of "Saga of Tanya the Evil" executed this style impressively.

One of the best examples is in the earlier part of episode 3, where there were well placed cuts in the scene. From working on a backline job and expressing how bad it is being a terrible protagonist, a jump cut suddenly took place after she was being grateful. From meeting her superior, the scene cuts to her sky spinning experience thanks to the head engineer of the Empire.

There are other very notable cuts in those episodes that most audiences probably haven't seen before in any TV show or movie they have seen. There is even a Star Wars-like wipe cut in one of the scenes.

On another note, there are four other anime audiences should check out for summer 2017 besides "Saga of Tanya the Evil." Out of the more than 50 anime lineup, including "ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept., "Chao: Child," "Little Witch Academia," and "Scum's Wish," Kotaku reported.
