For fans who are up for traditional romantic products for Valentine's Day, they can go to Takashimaya's Shinjuku store, which is collaborating with "Rose of Versailles." Fans of the manga series can enjoy the celebration with chocolates and other merchandise as a part of the store's Valentine's Day promotion.

The celebration, dubbed "Amour du Chocolat," brings all kinds of special-edition goods and chocolates for the romantics and fans of "Rose of Versailles," Crunchy Roll reported. The store's second floor will display the ball gown of Lady Oscar, which is a recreation made by Bunka Fashion College. The gown was made in 2007 and was displayed during the 2008 "Rose of Versailles Forever" exhibition show.

On another note, there has been a shift in consumers of chocolates during Valentine's Day as more male customers are now buying these delicious sweets over the females who are typically the ones crowding the stores, The Jakarta Post reported. These men are after "ore-choco," which in Japan means, "chocolate for myself."

Department stores in Japan are very aggressive in providing novelty chocolates every season, especially now that the Valentine's Day is drawing near. Most of these stores prefer to bring chocolates from overseas and introduce them in Japan. These new products are the main reason why more men are buying chocolates.

The Takashimaya Shinjuku Store, which is located in Shibuya Ward, Tokyo, opened its Valentine's Day chocolate special sales in January 26. According to a sales employee, men can now buy chocolates for self consumption like women. They can even enjoy the "Amour du Chocolat" celebration, which highlights the "Rose of Versailles" Valentine's Day promotion.

"Rose of Versailles" is based on the popular manga series created by Riyoko Ikeda. It is a story about two star crossed lovers that will forever change the face of the French Revolution. The chance meeting between Oscar and Marie Antoinette has created a ripple effect that influenced all the people involved in the revolt.

Marie Antoinette belongs to a royal family from Australia and is destined to become the future queen of France. She left her family at the age of 15 to marry the prince of France. This story is quite appropriate for the Valentine's Day promotion of Takashimaya's Shinjuku store.
