A Steroline wedding may happen after all in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 finale if the behind-the-scenes photos are any indication. One of the images from the final day of filming teases a wedding reception.
There are three things prominent in the photo that suggests a Steroline wedding takes place in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 finale. One thing that pops out from the image, shared by TV Line, are the bright lights behind Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley). The lights seem to serve as backdrop to a stage setting. There are also lights hanging on the ceiling.
Likewise, there are tables adorned with silverware and wine glasses. The chairs used in the setting also fit a wedding ceremony. Most importantly, both Salvatore brothers are dressed for a fancy occasion-- both are in a suit and tie. Stefan and Damon also have the white hanky sticking out of their suit's breast pocket, which usually hints to a formal occasion.
In one photo from the filming of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 finale, Caroline (Candice King) popped up for a quick shot with the Salvatore brothers. However, she hid her body behind the two men, perhaps to conceal the outfit she wore.
Fans have since asked showrunner Julie Plec to have a Steroline June wedding in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 finale. Plec had not given an assurance that the nuptial would happen. She only told fans to wait and see.
"We'll just have to see by February if we get to June," Plec told Too Fab.
Likewise, Wesley and King have since addressed the viewers' request for a Steroline wedding in previous interviews during the 2016 San Diego Comic-Con. The actor teased that fans usually get what they want. If they want to see Caroline and Stefan marry in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8, then perhaps it could happen.
