Fantagio's ASTRO shared their honest opinion on debuting with a cute concept rather than following the likes of BTS and BIGBANG. In a tell-it-all, the members revealed they were surprised upon learning about the image they will be carrying in their debut last year.
ASTRO's Moonbin said they usually do song covers of BTS and BIGBANG tracks during their trainee days; hence, none of them expected to debut with a cute concept.
According to Allkpop, the member even shared his struggles when their agency told them about the concept. "It had a completely different vibe. I remember struggling with making facial expressions," Moonbin added.
On the other hand, Rocky thought the boy group is suited for the cute image considering their age. "You can't just do this concept with loads of practice. It felt like this was really "ours,"" he said.
The ASTRO member admitted there were instances when he wanted the boy group to carry a fierce image. However, Rocky later realized that the band is doing well with their choice.
When asked about music style, Jinjin said he wanted the boy group to produce something where all of them are just enjoying and being care-free. The ASTRO member thought it would be fun to perform without a set of choreography.
The idol likened his ideal music style to BIGBANG's "We Like 2 Party" song, where the band showed their natural side.
Meanwhile, ASTRO planned to reach out to their fans in Singapore to express their gratitude for the success of their debut in 2016. Soompi cited the six-member band is scheduled to hold a fan meeting event, called "ASTRO THE 1st SHOWCASE IN SINGAPORE."
